Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main difference between Ordinary and Associate members?
  • Ordinary Membership is for established professionals, founders, and practitioners who have experience in their field. They hold voting rights and receive exclusive perks.

  • Associate Membership is designed for students, fresh graduates, and career switchers who are building their foundation. They get full access to learn, but do not vote on community direction.

Why is there a screening process? Can’t I just sign up?

NIPC is built on the belief that "who you are in the room with matters." The Council reviews every application to ensure you are placed in the tier that matches your current career stage. This keeps our peer groups relevant and high-quality.

I am not based in Singapore. Can I still join?

Absolutely. We are a global community. While some retail discounts are local to Singapore, our software perks, webinars, and digital resources are accessible to members worldwide.

I applied for Ordinary Membership, but was offered an Associate spot. Why?

This usually happens if the Council believes you would benefit more from the learning track before stepping into the leadership track. It is not a rejection! It is an invitation to grow with us until you are ready to upgrade.

Is the $60 annual fee for Ordinary Membership worth it?

We designed the membership so it pays for itself with a single use.

  • The Math: If you use just one of our partner discount codes (e.g., for a monitor, software subscription, or course), you will likely save more than the cost of the membership fee.

  • The Bonus: For early adopters, the 80% discount for the first 3 years means you are paying just $12/year. That is $1 a month to be part of a curated professional network.

Why is Associate Membership free?

We believe knowledge should be accessible. Students and fresh graduates often have limited budgets, and we do not want cost to be a barrier to their growth. In return, we ask Associates to be active, curious, and respectful participants.

Can I upgrade from Associate to Ordinary later?

Yes! If you gain significant work experience or launch a project, you can request a "Tier Review" from the Council. If approved, you can upgrade your membership status.
